Harley-Davidson Murrini
Here's the first two pictures of the finished piece. The first one is where the cane broke near the end. I have no way of cutting the rest of the cane until later today when I get to a lapidary saw. I'll post some more photos as soon as I can.

Very KEWL David!
I once had a Tattoo Artist ask in the middle of the process,
"How do you spell Davidson?"
Not much room for error here either.

David that is Murinni is totally awesome! If you should ever change your mind about selling a slice please let me know. My brother (who's a hog riding accountant.... a contradiction of images isn't it??) does my books every year when he comes to the yearly bike week celebration at Weir's Beach not far from me. It's quite the event, bikers are wall to wall there all week long and the main road in town is blocked off for car traffic and only bikes are allowed.
He slaves over my books during the day (shaking his head and trying not to sob when he sees what I've done to them....though I still contest that janitorial services was the logical category for snowplowing! Cleaning up my driveway so the gas truck could make it up the hill to deliver my tanks!) and when he can't take it anymore he rides up to join the party the in the evening. Hard to believe that a family that produced two accountants could have also produced a right brained creative type. I swear that they got my share of left brain and I got their rights.
He'd absolutely flip out if I could present him with a HD bead next year! I try to treat him super well and ply him with goodies and surprises so he'll keep coming back.
If you ever decide to make a bunch they'd sell like hotcakes!
Please, please let me know if you change your mind and decide to part with a slice of that cane

Leslie,
If Harley-Davidson would let me license this for sale, I would be in the studio right now working on perfecting it. Unfortunately, after talking to the marketing people there, I was told that they wouldn't license it or let me sell it. They can get rather testy when people use their logos without permission. So I'll be heading in another direction, this time with something I can actually sell. I have to have some way of paying for gas, glass, and class!

David,
That is absolutely amazing.... really, I'm in awe... The thought of putting all of that together just blows my mind! When you wrote in an earlier post about putting one of the letters upside down, I told myself that from now on I won't whine when a bead cracks, or a design turns out like hell after a mere hour or two at the torch!
My hat is off to you!

That cane is just amazing! I've been following your progress on the ISGB forum. Maybe if you can't seel it, you might be able to do some trades instead!

Great job. people have no idea what they can learn when they take a class with loren Stump. Now you have to work on making a glass harley.
