Shakin' out the rust, still...
...but, improving some over last week. Our model tonight was a familiar one to me, though I haven't drawn her for over a year. It was good to know what to expect regarding her style of posing...she's very lyrical in her positions, especially her short poses. Anyway, here's a couple from tonight's life drawing session:
5 minutes
10 minutes
20 minutes

Wow what wonderful quick poses Pat you’ve really done the model proud. the composition and use of values has made that 20 minute one a finished work.

Maximum amount of art with the minimum number of marks. Outstanding!

Look at what you're producing in very small timeframes.
No rust here...you are a well oiled, fully functioning, top spec drawing machine.
I think I recognise this model...do I or am I mistaken?
Anyway...you're return remains triumphant.
Beautiful stuff.

I think you are pretty good with the figure sketching! Although, on the second piece, the one on the right side, her head looks a bit small to me (I'm talking about the one standing), but otherwise, this is a fab job well done!

Re: Shakin' out the rust, still...
Thanks, Dave, WandaT.F. and Trevor.....
Mouse, you're spot on....that is the model I've posted drawings of in the past. In fact, that last pose is almost identical this one she struck for 2? hours some time back.

At any rate, thanks for your encouragement, Dave.
And, yes, the head IS a tad bit on the smallish side, isn't it, GhettoDaveyHavok? heh....She's much better proportioned than how I depicted her in that drawing. Oh well, so much for 10 minutes *shrugging shoulders*. Thanks for your encouragement as well.

Yes getting into the swing of it again Pat, nice soft modeling with the charcoal here... and maybe building up to some long poses again?

Re: Shakin' out the rust, still...
Thanks, Nathan.
Jamie, I'm drawing on 18 x 24" rough textured newsprint......I'm glad you don't see the rust, lol.
Mac, unfortunately, this group only does some one minute warm ups, a couple of 5 minute and 10 minute sketches and then only 20 minute poses after that, but I'm not complaining about the lack of a long pose. The cost is $0 for the 2 hours. At least it's better than a group I used to attend that did no warm ups at all....just 20 minute poses.

Re: Shakin' out the rust, still...
Absolutely no rust at all Pat! I am in awe of the piece in your follow-up post here..... a real stunner. I am hoping she is not on the newsprint though, because she should be framed! Your latest studies are brilliant too..... my fave is the seated figure on the second sheet...... beautiful..!
