Wonderful job. I'm always impressed when someone can paint a portrait that resembles the subject.

Re: WDE 2-15-08 Dad
Very nice portrait. Are Aqua oils something like oil paint that is water soluble?

Yes Evansph, the paints I am using are watersoluble oils, all the major companies are making them ( Winsor&Newton, Grumbacher etc.)

Re: WDE 2-15-08 Dad
I like this. My first response as I looked at the painting was that it shows his character so well--nice, honest, unpretentious. Now, reading others' posts, I see they also see a lot of character in this. I guess Spooky will have to let us know if Dad is as nice as you portray him.

A nice portrait; the warm colors in his face and hair offset by the cool colors in the coat and background give it a bit of snap.

You have done a great job on this as usual. Lots of character and the detail in the jacket is terrific.
