brush cleaner

Several years back I purchased a windsor newton brush cleaner. It somehow was hiding in the studio for all this time. It surfaced the other day and, well, I had to see if it would work.

I have a hard clear plastic brayer which I use to texture the base coats of some of my work. It has a coral kind of appearance, but I digress.

Over the years it has had a build up of acrylic and I have scraped and peeled and all of that. Well, tonight I used the cleaner on that brayer and I must say with little effort the acrylic started to come off of the plastic roller. I gave it a few good rubs with a cloth and then put it under the faucet with some soap and my goodness it came right off and my wretched looking brayer is back in working condition and I have used it for a new project for some small works I may try and put in the show.

Re: brush cleaner

Just wondering if it's similar to Brush Mate? Glad you were able to resurect the brayer!
