Had some fun with pen sketches. First one is from reference, second one is from memory, drawn with my opposite hand.

Re: Sketchbook Pages

nice sketches

here's one I did of a feather - turning it different ways and over to the other side and then experimenting with other colours but being true to the tonal values - pastel pencils, pencil, brush pens - but looking at the same thing again and again

this is a pastel pencil sketch on cream coloured paper of the rapeseed fields glowing bright yellow against the bluish distant hedges and woods, evening light.

Hey this is a neat thread, and I thought I knew where all the sketch threads were on Wetcanvas. Wonderful art here.

Re: Sketchbook Pages

Hi! I thought I'd contribute some stuff from my sketchbook during recent travels.

This is from a visit to the Newark Art Museum; the sculpture of "Leander" by Rinehart:

Here is one of Degas' "Bathers": from the Kimball Museum in Ft. Worth, TX:

But this is my favorite from my trip to New York City, sketched from a postcard I bought at the Staten Island Ferry gift shop, waiting for the next ferry to go back to the city:

Re: Sketchbook Pages

i think the poem writing stuff is really good and most of the time it works for me. when you find it difficult to get ideas for a painting you can always refer to them for an idea or after the painting, it just gives you more to think about after viewing the painting itself......althought it is true that a picture or painting is more than a thousand words..
