Garrita del Diablo

16 x 20 canvas, acrylics. From El Morro series, a close up of the little sentry fort where guards would be posted to look for ships that were going to attack. C&C's welcomed.

Triple Wow! The clouds are excellent. You are getting better and better with each painting I see. This one almost has a 3D effect with the fort in the midground.

Continued great improvement in your work Tony. We're all very proud of what you've accomplished. This is just another example of how much you've grown. Congratulations!
C&C? Not much...just a note to set the background values down a bit and blur that sharp horizon line slightly.
Great painting!
Byron

Re: Garrita del Diablo

Very nice job, Tony. I'm guessing the canvas is titled, making the horizon tilt, right?

Mooz: Thanx for the comments!

Perel: Thanx for looking!

Nat: Appreciate the comments!

Laudesan: Your comments inpire me to keep painting! Thanx!

Byron: Thanx so much for your input......I've learned so much from you here and still learning! Will remember to soften that horizon for future art. Great advice. As a musician I know the value of practicing a song until it's perfect, so I'll keep practicing until I get the perfect wave!

Gillette: Thanx for your encouraging comments!

Marty: Thanx for the comments and input. I see what you saw and checked the painting for a straight horizon. It's straight but, lately I've been having some anamolies happen when I photograph the art, looks like I used a wide angel lens ( I didn't ) and somehow distorts the horizon, weird! Maybe I'm taking the pic too close? I also noticed that on some other ref pics I have of the sea, seems to curve the horizon slightly. Any suggestions would help thanx!

Frank: Thanx so much for your comments!

Carl: Thanx for the comments and for looking, appreciate it.......TJ

Manny: Thanx for the comments, I was looking for aging on that part! I saw your art of Cuba, I don't know if you lived there or not but, they have the same structures there too. btw your painting was great! Looks very much like PR.
