Snack
X-Posted in Still Life. What I'm working on. Experiment using 16 x 20" Clayboard Textured with Acrylics. Different feel for sure - believe I prefer the spring of stretched canvas, but this is okay.
I love Fiesta ware, particularly this Shamrock Green color. And the Braeburn provided some variety of reds and yellows. This is being painted from life too.
Not finished so any suggestions on how to improve this will be much appreciated. I'm really trying to keep it loose and spontaneous.

Re: Snack
I like this Celeste. I like the movement you have created with the circular motif.

Re: Snack
Beautiful color and form. That apple is gorgeous! There seems to be a halo around it on the left side.

Re: Snack
Hi Celeste, still setting the standard I see! Go Girl!!!!
What a magnificent green. I just love it. The rendering of the mug is superb, think I could just about grab it and sip the coffee. The eclipse of the plate seems just a tinsy bit off somehow but I can't quite pin-point exactly where. It's not a biggy and doesn't really disturb the work as a whole too much. I know you're not finished yet so will we see some of those lovely little pale green highlights on the mug being added to the plate?
Everything else is fab! Looking forward to the finish.

Re: Snack
Was thinking about the elipse of the plate too, but it doesn't matter. I agree with Brian, don't mess with it! fantastic work.

Re: Snack
Hi guys - everyone nailed the problem I was having with this one - that crazy plate ellipse...I know it's wrong, just can't exactly see how to fix it - can't turn my reference upside-down ... ha!
Ellipses are probably one of my biggest challenges - and look at how many are in this one! The other problematic ellipse was the mug's handle - but I think it's okay now.
Yes, I'll be popping in some subtle highlights of green probably - and fixing minor issues - but it's 99% done as is.
Thanks for all the votes of confidence!

Re: Snack
Hi Celeste I may have found the elipse problem for you. At the end of the knife handle the plate is a little out of round and the shadow of the knife itself is accentuating it. I hope this helps
