***Daily Wash*** Friday 28th December 2007
Mornin' all. No traffic, very light wind and dry here in Southampton Docks. Yes some of us have to work to keep the wife in stockings and suspenders.
Hope you all had a great Christmas and looking forward to a new year. In fact it was almost... yes almost nice to get back to my little part time job yesterday even though it was deadly quiet out there until about 10.30 when the sales carparks started to fill.
Rain forecast by lunchtime which will ruin our plans for a walk in the New Forest with picnic. We are entertaining old freinds tonight to dinner and they will stay the night, so can crack that Stilton and old port at last.
Eventful and delightful time with the kids but now quiet but not back to old routine. Just lets get New Year Eve out of the way, then the annual Red Dress Hash in Winchester at 11.30 on NY Day, competiung with the vintage bus anoraks at their rally, strange folk.

Re: ***Daily Wash*** Friday 28th December 2007
Evening Derek
a great day in Cambridge, John and I are celebrating our marriage of 39 summers
Had the window cleaner here this morning so had to be out of bed early - no lazing around in jammies painting! lol
It's my one extravagance with housecleaning getting someone in to do the windows, takes 5 hours, he even gets up on the roof to clean the skylights.
Brushes away cobwebs etc, even cleans the windows in the store rooms and tool shed!
Went to town this afternoon to have a cuppa with friends, and then to the gym! lol I guess not many people would choose a gym workout on their anniversary, certainly not their 39th! lol but we are gym junkies
And tomorrow we will eat out and go to a movie in celebration.
And tomorrow is also our son's 38th birthday so more celebrations with him too.
Have a great Friday everyone

Morning Derek, morning all
Pitch black here at 8 am, but a warm 53F outside.
Didn't get out yesterday, it started to pour with rain, so thought better of it. One of the advantages of being retired
Not much happening here, another 15 emails to check and then I'll have some breakfast. BBL

Re: ***Daily Wash*** Friday 28th December 2007
Good Morning all,
It is a few minutes after 5:00 a.m. here in Ohio. Forecast is for possible snow flurries OR rain this morningseems as if the weather people are trying to cover all bets, eh.
Larry and I will be driving up to the Base this morningbut not to the Hospital for a change. Just to the commissary and BX to pick up a few things.
Still need to readjust values and add a few details to my Landmark Challange, then I can call it finished and start thinking of one for February. Lots of ideas, just need to get a photo to use as a reference for some of them.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LULU AND JOHN! Hope you have many, many more wonderful years together. Happy Birthday Tomorrow for your son as well.
While we are sending good thoughts out, let's all say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BONNIE R (toyam) today! Hope you have a wonderful day and a terrific year ahead in 2008.
Derek,
Can you explain the term "hash" for us? I love these terms that people use that aren't common here in the States, sounds like it is a formal dinner. Is that correct? I remember when Larry was in the Air Force and we would go to "Mess Dress" affairs. Sounds like a pretty casual event, but actually it was a very formal dinner where the men wore their Mess Dress Uniforms (equivalent to a tuxedo) and women wore long gowns and gloves.
Lulu,
Love your penquin pj's and how busy you were painting while your friend took your photo.
Doug,
Hope you are relaxing with a nice cuppa tea and enjoying yourself.
to all who are on the way here.
SYL,
Sylvia

Knocking off and logging off right now Syl, but google 'hash house harriers' and see where it gets you. You could even add Dayton, there might be one near you. It's basically drinkers with a running problem.

Good Morning Derek (big brother), Doug, Syl,
Good Evening JJ and Lulu,
Lulu, I'm still in my PJ's, too. And, I was in them when the Jehovah's Witnesses came Saturday morning. Nice penguins! Happy anniversary!
26 F here. Going to snow later today. Two to four inches in my area, less in Novi, Doug. Going down that way Saturday for a Christmas dinner.
Still working on the kitchen tiling today. Wife is sleeping now, so I can rest.
Have a good day,
Bill

Re: ***Daily Wash*** Friday 28th December 2007
AFTERNOON WASHGANGEROOS!!!
MANY HAPPY RETURNS BONNIE AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LULU AND JOHN!!
We are off to the Age Concern warehouse today - noooooo not to pick up an old person (or even drop one off ) - they have a new consignment of furniture in - a great place to pick up a bargain so we are looking at display cabinets and I want a long table or two for my computer and art work - had to rethink the original plan of my room.
Another overcast day here in downtown Wigan and am sure it is going to rain AGAIN!!!
Probably have to get a bit of shopping in to - mind you I think Asda may be packed - honestly you would think there was a war on the way people panic buy over the holidays - wouldn't mind but the shops are only closed for one day.
Well better make a move - bbl

Re: ***Daily Wash*** Friday 28th December 2007
 everyone,
Not much new since I replied last night in yesterday's wash. So I'll just say have a great day and start to the weekend.
Happy Birthday Bonnie.
Happy anniversary Lulu and John. Sounds like a great idea to get those windows done. I wish I could find someone around here to do that thorough a job. I'd pay as well.
Pat - can't wait to see some pics of the new place. Sounds like it will be beautiful.
Good morning to Geoff, Derek, Bill and Sylvia and all who are following.
JJ - love the pics. They aren't called wetlands for nothing.
Gotta run and get ready for picking up my paintings at our gallery. I'll check in again later while I am working on transferring stuff in this computer again.
White light beaming out for those not well.
