Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Bench

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: Bench
Year Created: 2007
Medium: Watercolor
Surface: Paper
Dimension: 2 * (5
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
The piece would not fit into the scanner as one piece, and I think I will cut this up as shown, anyway. This is my first submission to the structured crit forum.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I welcome any comments or suggestions. I don't know if I should use the butt icon for the picture, but am doing it just to be on the safe side.

Re: Bench

I glued it for you.

I think this piece is amusing and loosely handled. The line and loose washes are coherant. Is it an illustration for a story? It seems like it is trying to tell one!

Re: Bench

Thank you, Lynn. I have been looking at your paintings for a long time now, and am blown away by the masterly technique.

This piece is not meant to illustrate a specific story, But I see how it can look like there is some story to it.
I guess the picture is about different slices of humanity coming together on a bench, in a park or a bus stop or someplace, and passively interacting and observing and being observed.

Fanciful! Strong colours and musical lines, let's see more.

Re: Bench

I like your style. I would like to see your work be more serious, though. I think a strong juxtaposition of this wild and intense color with a political or critique of society would be interesting.

Re: Bench

Outstanding. Particularly in the way you varied color, line and shape throughout the work. Perhaps the weakest depiction is the purple guy at the left in terms of the expression and the L shape in the chest.

I agree with the others who say DON'T CUT IT UP!

Regarding your inability to scan, consider a cheap digital camera. It does a much better job of digitizing all kinds of works. You can get a lot of information of which cameras work well on the wet canvas forum for photography or on dpreview.
