Anyone from Germany??

Hello,
I am trying to help a friend out who is looking for good drawing papers in Germany. I live in the states so I have no problems but he says that such papers like Strathmore and Canson are hard to find there, So I decided to give him my help and see if I could find anyone who maybe knew of where he could find them? Thanks it is really appreciated.

Re: Anyone from Germany??

I'm not from Germany, but Hahnemühle (a German art paper company) makes good drawing papers, as well as watercolor papers, that could be used (use the back/smooth side on cold-pressed wc papers)

Also Arches papers are available in Germany - watercolor papers & printmaking cover papers.

Reeves BFK printmaking paper (drukpapier) is also available and is good for graphite drawing, or colored pencil.

Tell your friend to look at Gerstaeker's online shop. They're the largest art supply in Germany, I believe.

Here's a link to the Arches watercolor pads on the Gerstaeker site (again, use the backside on the cold-pressed ('NOT' is how cold-pressed is called in Europe) wc papers)
http://www.gerstaecker.de/ARCHESAqua...rellblocke.htm

Hope that's of some help.

"Reinhard" and "faula" are in Germany. Reinhard is usually over in the D&S Forum.

Judy

Re: Anyone from Germany??

this is Martin from Germany ....

Canson papers I've seen quite often in art supply shops around here.
As Judy mentioned, Hahnemühle is the maybe leading German manufacturer for fine art paper, Schoellershammer is another important one.

Gerstaecker ist one of the biggest mail order shops for fine art material. Boesner (www.boesner.com) is another big player, besides mail order they have a number of shops around Germany (see list at http://www.boesner-stuttgart.de/html/boesner.html). They have Canson and Arches papers as well.
good times - martin

Re: Anyone from Germany??

A while back we put together a thread listing the availability of art supplies in Europe. Most of the information may still be useful.

This is in the CP Library:
