Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Draw what I see..

Full of cold uurrrgghh and fuzzy headed at the moment.
Had an awful week, I think it was 3 weeks ago now, I just couldn't do anything, couldn't see, just didn't know what I was doing. I think I was just knackered and I forget sometimes I need to be able to concentrate.
The next week I got over excited again at having a lovely model and 2 hr pose and couldn't get as much as I would have liked done. I am feeling the urge to try out colour sometime soon!
This week I had the mantra just draw what I see going through my head.

2hr oil

1hr charcoal
Does the back leg look too short?
1hr conte + chalk

Re: Draw what I see..

I think we have come out of our cold and flu season... commiseration's Zoe!
some nice expressive work though, and I especially like the way you handled the last one!

I don't know how you can wait for the colour, though the tonal exercise is good... the problem with these poses is getting everything right when the model resumes the pose... I think the head doesn't quite fit on the first one, and there is a difference in the legs in the second one.

Mac

Re: Draw what I see..

I think these are coming along nicely. I'm going through a similar transition from graphite to color. It's been kind of frustrating to get the proportions right and then think about color when I still draw relatively slow.

In the 2nd pose, I actually think you have the far leg correct relative to the head size. But, that makes the torso and close leg too long and vice versa. Do you measure by heads or relating one part to another.

That last one is where it's at! That's a powerful way to illustrate the form, toned paper-light-dark-you-know-what-I-mean, and the upper torso is extremely well done. The clavicle out to the acromion process on both shoulders is great. I would think that you would get more of an indication of the juggular notch and the chin looks a bit wierd. Still, I can see the egg shape of the ribcage and the transition into the love handles looks great. I hope to see you do more of those. Nice work.

Hey Zoe........nice work again. You're got some great lighting effects with both your oils and pastels. Really like the last one. The harsh lighting combined with the lost edges on the leg work a treat .

Mac thanks, I had the luxury of 2 days in bed , which soon turned into just being annoyed at feeling rubbish but then I have had to just get on with it! I'm sure it is easy to wallow when allowed to.
Anyway yup wanna try some colour and you and Pauline have so raised the bar!!!! I'm at a new group and its only 2hrs over my previous 3hrs and it I've only used the oils once. never know what length pose we are going to get. Keep putting off colour until I've had some practise in skin tone,,excuses..excuses

Hi Bruce, I've kinda stopped measuring, don't know if a good or bad thing but I used to measure in heads and probably still just check alignment now and then..I'm trying to make sure it just looks right to me as I go along!!

Thanks Trevor, when there is dramatic lighting it is a method I have started to enjoy.

Thanks Anarun really enjoyed doing that one, just pouring over my anatomy books to do my homework

Thanks Brad
