Gavin,

Love your use of greys. The water appears to shine. Great. Don't worry about the ratio of looks to comments. I look at hundreds of things and don't comment because I don't feel that confident as a critic.

In the words of Mr. Burns ... "Eeeeexcellent"

I love the way you handled the ripples of the water.. so smooth and calm. Detail on the boat is fantastic.

Thumbs up Excellent!

This is a truly fine painting. Great job on the water and I grew up on docks/water so it's making me home sick!!!!!!

Gavin, Is this another Greenport painting? Those look like Northshore trees in the background.

I love these harbor scenes. Looking really good.
Your reflections on the water are Excellent. How long does that take to paint? btdt- not easy.

Sometimes it takes a day or two for people to get to all the posts.

Nice composition and great color harmony. Harbor scenes are my favorites--wish I lived near one!!!

Thank y'all for your great remarks!

Renee-
Yes this is a North Fork scene, glad you recognize!
Takes about 6 hours or more for each, depends on size and light.

Sometimes I come back 3 or 4 times, but usually try to stay with my first or second impression.
