Couple of old still lifes

Not the best of photos but this is a couple of older still lifes. Both are 12x16 and one is acrylic on masonite, the other acrylic on canvas.

Are the wood frames real or painted?

I hadn't seen these two before - that I remember. Love that rusty objects one.

Thanks Jack and yes, it is quite a compliment that someone would think the frames were also painted. The background wood is however, painted.

These are delightful tromp-l 'oeils. They look like you had a lot of fun painting these as well.

Beautifully done, Margaret... I agree about the frame looking like an integral part of the painting.

Thanks for coming by and looking Diane (how's the trip going?).
I just thought the barnwood frames were what these two needed.

I could never have those on my wall--I'd constantly be watching that spider! Lovely work.

Thanks Susan, when you are ready to hang them on your wall I'll paint the spider out for you.

Re: Couple of old still lifes

I love barn wood frames on pieces like this. They add a lot to the work. That first painting is beautiful and the spider web is just the right touch.
