Early NYC Christmas

Okay, so it isn't even Halloween yet, but I painted this for a Christmas card design and decided to post it in October ...have to give credit to Mr. Sandbanx for giving me the idea to put a taxi in a Christmas card.
Did this on Arches 140 lb. CP.

and with some lettering...

Re: Early NYC Christmas

Great card. The taxi is a nice NY touch and having it going off the page gives movement to the painting. Something about the lettering bothers me. Maybe because it isn't centered on the moon or maybe because it is so black. I can't put my finger on it. Very cool idea and very well painted.

Re: Early NYC Christmas

Thanks Greg and John...

John -- I know what you mean about the lettering. I was playing around with it so much and not mastering the photoshop program that I gave up! When I print the cards I think I might curve the letters and change to color to a dark red. I have to get my kids to explain how to do it. lol

Re: Early NYC Christmas

Tina- this had me laughing out loud- oh, you HAVE to print up a zillion and sell these in the shops in NYC!!!

I have to admit- I am not 'into' christmas cards- and all the 'stuff' that goes with christmas.... but this has me changing my mind- big time.... and of COURSE they would not have reindeer in NYC- you just gotta have a CAB... LOL....

Hat's off- how you can do this amazing stuff and put up with weekly chemo and all the rest is totally beyond me....

Grat fun...and with the Merry Christmas on the cab roof, don't even think you need to add it...I sort of like the moon all open and setting off the sleigh and cab!
