Winter has come

Did this quick charcoal sketch while I was having my lunch in the car today( pork pie and french bread) looking at the new snow on our surrounding mountains. If its clear tomorrow , may call up a friend and go out and paint.

No doubt there is a painting there waiting to happen!

Today, if I can motivate my wife recovering from a bout with pneumonia to come along....I want to go paint along a river called the Pier Gorge of the Menomonee. Set her up in a lounge chair with a blanket and good book. Then later, go to a nearby town to shop. The sun's out....and I'm ready. More than ready.
Show us what you end up doing Billy....and, your lunch sounds good to me!

Hope you had a fun day Larry and the wife enjoyed spending your money LOL.As you say there is something waiting to happen here, lets hope it does. I could do with a satisfying piece. When I went home in '89 I couldnt wait to get down to the local bakery shop and buy some juicy pork pies.They were as lovely as I had remembered them from25 yrs before. And still the same queue outside waiting for the baking.If your ever in Widnes in the UK go to Eatons for pork pies.
Hugh Your always the task master, making me work. Actually its what I need at the moment as I must admit to being very slack of late.I have a date for Monday with a friend to paint ( pleine aire) so will make the most of it. Maybe not Mt Arthur but something anyway.

This global access is something .. One person welcomes winter while the other is calling in Summer .. too cool .. you are an active sketcher .. I have a sketch book and never seem to drop the knife or brush long enough to pick up the pencil .. after the fact so I've already seen your painting .. nice coloring and depth.
