Had to record this on canvas...

Oils
12 X 16
not done yet, but I had to catch this the morning it opened. The bloom is larger than my hand. I want to grow a whole field of these.

Flowers are really hard for me. They confuse me but I love them.

Actually yes billyg, this scan came out quite dark. I think its because the paints are still really wet and I also did not get the whole picture in it as this is 12 x 16, not 9 x 12 like I had originally mentioned. I'll edit that first post. Thanks for looking.

Glad to see I'm not the only one crazy enough to post work in stages or not finished!! hahahah....good show!

Looking forward to seeing where this goes. Looks like one that has great potential. Don't want to spoil it with ideas...we'll just let this one bake in the oven and savor the aroma.

Larry

Actually Larry, I find it extrememly helpful to post in stages. Seeing my work on computer really helps me to critique my own work much more objectively. I used to hold my painting up to a mirror to critique them because it changes the way I look at them. Its extremely helpful to view figure drawings with a mirrored image to analyse proportions etc. Whereas computer images aren't mirrored, it does somewhat the same affect. I have learned a lot just by posting in stages and knowing that others are going to be looking at them.

There are other buds starting to open up and I think I'll add some in this painting as they do. It should be fun!
