Re: Leonard Cohen

second one...
if i saw this man looking like this, I'd want to know what he was thinking

but the chances I would ever see a man or woman looking like this are not good because he is surely alone or in a peaceful place away from people!!
it's a moment of joy he's experiencing...a moment of breathing in all the good things in life. "what a wonderful world" he's singing in his head
beautiful

Re: Leonard Cohen

It's kind of a shame that a lot of people in the U.S. aren't aware of Leonard Cohen's body of work. Canadians rarely boast of him in the way that they speak of other artists, but I get the impression he's almost idolized by some (rightfully so, according to a Canadian acquaintance). A remarkable man, and your portrait is a beautiful tribute to someone who probably can now look back and reflect on a lifetime of touching others through his music and poetry, most of whom he never met. Great, great, great picture. Thanks a ton for posting.

Re: Leonard Cohen

I was a big fan of his poetry and, of course, 'Beautiful Losers' in the 1960's. Then along came 'Suzanne' and I hyperventilated: not only was he the best poet in the universe, he was a genius songwriter too!
Witness:
"...there is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in..."

He's a fellow Canadian and a Buddhist (me, too) and writes lyrics that tear you up; and composes/ arranges music to go with the lyrics that is unnerringly and beautifully conceived.

Your tributes are nicely conceived and very well executed.

Allan

Re: Leonard Cohen

thank you very much! I find him intoxicating, and am glad you do too! It was more of a challenge to draw him than any other I have so far, I really didn't want it to come out poorly. There will be more work of him from me in the future, I could draw him forever and not get bored.
