OCTOBER--Invitation to Paint-- MEXICO

I found theses photos in our reference library. posted by Mary Woodul.
She says that she is delighted to let use use them for our October “invitation”.

The photos are of an old Hacienda in San Luis Potosì, Mexico. The building and aqueduct date back to the beginning of the 1800s and the name of the place is El Molino de Cinco Señores.

I think this is a wonderful subject, just waiting to be painted

To see more of Mary’s photos go to the RIL (reference image library)

Her posting name is mlelevier

If you are just learning to use the reference library, follow these easy instructions. On the top blue line of the home page, scroll down on CONTENT AREAS and click on Reference Image Library (RIL)
On the Blue line that says “My Photos-My Favorites” click on SEARCH.
Fill in the user name (mlelevier) and leave everything else blank.
Click on “Execute Search” at the bottom of page.

If you want to prnt a photo, click on PRINT VIEW

Re: OCTOBER--Invitation to Paint-- MEXICO

Beautiful, colorful photos! This one is next on my to-do list. The photos are downloaded, and I've already mentally made a few "creative" decisions. See ya' after I give it a try, and I'm look forward to admiring what others bring to the table.

I've also picked out the one I'm going to do. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to try doing it on YUPO or on one of my other papers.

Please explain
When the thread says "MOVED", where has it been moved to and why?

Re: OCTOBER--Invitation to Paint-- MEXICO

Dale, do you mean "moved" to another section? The invitations/challenges were in The Learning Zone, and they've been moved to Watercolor Studio. Very confusing. I accidentally found them hiding here in the Watercolor Studio, and I've never noticed an announcement about the moves nor is it noted in the section description.

Bad timing on my part in that I've just gotten to the stage where I'm willing to give them ... then they disappear ... then I find where they are hiding.

Re: OCTOBER--Invitation to Paint-- MEXICO

The description for the Studio includes painting projects such as these Invitations to Paint. That is why it has been moved from the Learning Zone which is only for DEMOs and classes and workshops that have teaching components involved.

Here is the description for the Studio:

Quote:
Watercolor Studio - Want to show us how you work? Or are you stuck and don't know where to go with a painting? Then enjoy some company and get help from your studio friends while completing your works in progress (WIPS), or join in our painting Projects.

Hope this helps to clear up the "mystery".

Sylvia

Re: OCTOBER--Invitation to Paint-- MEXICO

Pardon. I stand corrected. I was used seeing them at least since spring in The Learning Zone, and I know others have found the moves confusing.

Excellent choice Dale!! Really nice pics...I'm sure we will be seeing many wonderful renditions! I usually paint five or six leaves at a time...don't know if I'm up to a WHOLE TREE!...but I'm gonna give it a go.
Maybe Doug will put some Mexican sheep in there...

Re: OCTOBER--Invitation to Paint-- MEXICO

Tracy, I sent all the sheep to the local cantina! I'm busy deleting items in my master drawing, and the sheep will be too drunk to pose.
