Very nice! Did you think about contrasting the right shore and water? Just a thought. Love the sun on the water!

You're on to something here. It's a style I've never seen before, thick planes of color with high contrast. The clouds are almost unrecognizable but it works in this case. I like this alot.

Re: Sunset on 6-miles lake

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Kate, I think I see why you are somewhat confused about the subject of the painting. There is a negative space at the middle right that represents the blue sky above the clouds but it has the form of a light blue mountain. And the purple cloud at the middle left (just above the horizon line) could also be a mountain.

Thomas, I'll take a minute to comment on your reply. A style you have never seen before??? You flattered me! I'm not good at drawing and I don't want to reproduce things accuratly (I am not able to anyway). I throw paint on masonite and I am generally surprised by what comes out!

I work almost exclusively with a knife (I have two of them but I always use the same!). I barely touch my brushes. I paint fast and use A LOT of paint when I'm painting. It might explain the thick planes.

I'm glad you've noticed the high contrast because I am usually trying to paint that way. About the clouds, you should see it in real life with a a low intensity light. The clouds pop up!

I'm satisfied with this one. It is me.

Thanks again everyone.

Daniel, I left a message at you other site, but as it is French, don't know if I did it correctly.

I love this one. It is very pretty. You have done very well on the reflection of the light in the sky onto the water.
