Re: A few of my flower photos
Carol you are so multi talented, wow, these are just beautiful sharp photos, and the lighting is perfect. The 2nd one is my favorite. Is the first photo just a bud? I have never seen an orchid like that.

Re: A few of my flower photos
Thank you Val & Tammy
Deb I go out every second weekend taking photographs with my hubby and a good friend. It is a competition to see who can produce the best photographs. When we first started it was me due to my art but now the boys are well beyond my capabilities and it is a rare shot in the best of mine that over takes theirs. It is interesting in that I look at things from an artistic point of view, my hubby from and aesthetic point of view and our friend from a B&W point of view. That day I was experimenting with a macro lens and it was the first time I had used it, so I was fairly happy with the results.
It is a fully opened flower. I think it is called a Ladies Slipper. We see them in the woodlands locally and this was at an arboretum just down the road that grows the local Pennsylvania plants.
Actually for all the photography that I have done, I have never thought to submit them in the Photography Forum. My loss I guess. Now I suspect after all the arguing and venting in the Suggestion Box thread, I probably would not be welcome in there.....

Re: A few of my flower photos
lol
I have heard of Ladies Slippers before, they are very pretty, and yellow is my favorite color.
The weekend outings sound like so much fun. I wish I had someone to go out taking photos with, my Husband really isn't into it. It is funny how differently people see photos, you really find this out when people do C&C for the photography comps. But I think it's great that everyone sees things differently.
Well Carol you did great with that macro lens, I have seen a lot of blurry macro photography and yours is very sharp. I have never used a macro lens, I usually use my 28-135 zoomed in all the way. But macro photography looks like fun, I might just have to invest in one soon.

Re: A few of my flower photos
Like I said elsewhere - your pics are good Carol .... they're also humorous - at least the first two! . .....that first reminds me of a fed-up dog whose owner has been playing with its hair!
I do like your photos - the mind boggles as to what the other two come up with!

I hope you will post your photos in the Photography Forum. Anyone is welcome there.
If you just want to share, post them in the Shutterbug Pub. If looking for critique and comments, the Darkroom is the place for that. Be forewarned, though, that sometimes critiques in the Darkroom can be brutally honest, so if feelings get hurt easily, the Pub is safer Usually comments on photos in the Pub are little more than verbal pats on the back, but Darkroom critiques pick shots apart from time to time.
Cheers,
Sue

Re: A few of my flower photos
Looks like lady's slipper, calla lily, daffodil or lily, fern, and no-telling-what frilly. Did you put them into the IRL?
