Congratulations for being the first cab off the rank Fred. It looks great, and I love the double mount, which sets it off really well.

Very, very well done Tyree -- your light and shade is great, and the apple looks good enough to eat. Thanks so much for posting. I love it.

Re: Monthly MINIATURE CHALLENGE -- August, 2007.

Susan, love the light that you've gotten in that one.

Well this is 3" x 4" in watercolour - not sure about it - the colour managed to run where I wanted to have brighter highlights - ce la vie! But I also want to keep playing with w/c without using masking fluid - just need to keep practicing some control

Re: Monthly MINIATURE CHALLENGE -- August, 2007.

Sue, your Tulip is really nice, and I'm glad you tried it in Watercolours, which is not the easiest medium to work in for shading, but you've done very well.

Val.

Re: Monthly MINIATURE CHALLENGE -- August, 2007.

Well, I couldn't resist having a shot at the Tulip -- it's so colourful and pretty. I have done it completely in Pointillism/Stipple (whichever you may wish to call it) -- lots of tiny, tiny dots, but I really enjoyed it. If I were to do it again, I would probably subdue the background a bit, but we don't have a very wide variety of coloured pens to work with.
It measures 3.5"x2.5" on Premier Watercolour Paper 216 gsm, and has been penned with Micron and Triplus pens.

Thankyou to stalksthedawn for this lovely photo in the RIL.

All C&C very welcome.

Unfortunately it has lost a lot of its crispness in the scan, and the dots are much, much finer than it shows here, and the Tulip is brighter. I think scanning can be a pain for a lot of we artists.

Val.
