NE-Wisconsin Summer Paint Workshops
IF any of you might be in the neighborhood this summer, I will be doing a good number of weekend painters workshops, mostly plein air- in either oil or acrylic medium.
Crisp clean air, beautiful lakes and woods. Brewing also are a couple week long workshops with area resorts. If for some reason I am unavailable to answer your questions, the owner of Birch Wood Galleries in Lakewood, Wisconsin can fill you in on dates and costs.

If you are familiar to the message boards at Wetcanvas, but unfamiliar with my work, I have four "how-to's" that can be seen on Wetcanvas.com and painting exhibits on art-agent.com of nearly 40 of my works. See my home page here, and follow the links-http://www.artistnation.com/members/lofts/lseiler/

Of course...if any of our closer knit WetCanvas friends happen to be up here in Wisconsin regardless of interests in a workshop...do let me know. At the very least, we've got to go out and paint, and see some beautiful places.

Hey Larry,
I was thinking of a trip up to the U.P. How much farther is it to come see you and Debbie?

The UP is about 2 hours north of us..so, we are actually a tad closer!!! I'll be going up there myself sometime this summer to paint along Pictured Rocks and other parts of the National Park.
When would you be making this trip? That would be cool to see ya! (bringing your art supplies along I would assume?)

Well, the black flies are so wicked in June and July...I'm thinking maybe August sometime. We'll probably camp somewhere for a few days. Miners Castle and Taquamenon Falls (sp?) are a couple of my favorite spots up there. I spent 10 days a couple of years ago doing a canoe trip from the start of the Fox River to Lake Michigan. It was absolutly beautiful, but I never slept really well...too many bears. Cluck,cluck!!
I'm a big chicken.

Cool...we'll have to see how things progress. First week of August, I might be taking a weeklong couple of credits at a local college with a few other teachers, but otherwise most of August would be open.
Black flies/gnats can be miserable, I understand!! I do need to spend time in the UP as well...which is region three of the national arts for the parks competition, and I figure region three would be better for me to compete with the Midwest scenic than region one, which includes the west Rockies, Tetons, etc;
