Latest Mini Paintings

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a great summer. I've been busy painting and playing. I have been lurking here and seen some very lovely and really tiny paintings. Although, I consider what I do small, I know they're no where near what some of you paint in tiny sizes, but I'm getting better at it.

The first two are 3x5's and were completed in plein air. "Geers Back Road" is a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 and the "fishing hole" is a 3x5. All are casein paint.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy the day!

Janice

Those are all very nice! I can't pick a favorite though, they are all good.

Re: Latest Mini Paintings

Hi, Very impressionistic paintings, looking at them I could almost be there and smell the fresh air. My favourite is No. 4 the reflections on the water shout movement / wind in the trees / sunshine breaking thru as the branches bend.
Great work

Wow, looking at these, it's hard to reconcile that they are ATC size! The depth you put into your waterscapes just draws me right in.

Re: Latest Mini Paintings

Thank you everyone.

The last one was a challenge. I'm sure lots of folks here have looked at heavily wooded areas thinking "someday I'll try that". Well that's this summer for me. It's very easy, I admit, to get lost painting shadows, trees, reflections, etc, etc. I thought it would be easier painting small ones first.

This area is beautiful with trees that have massive root systems anchoring them into the banks of the river. I plan to visit there again in the fall and winter, (after mosquito season) because I think the root systems of the trees will make a great complex study and that will keep me preoccupied during rainy days for awhile at least.
