Farm off Quaker Rd

"Farm off Quaker Road", 10 x 14, acrylic on paper

This took 2 sessions of about an hour each after work, due to rapidly changing light. I'm trying to get out more and do these sketches. I'll be going to England this summer, and I want to know what I'm doing paint-wise before then!

Jeff, I would say you are well on your way if you can accomplish this is just two short hours. It is very nice!
I've been to the countryside of England several times. You will have so much subject matter. The colors are breathtaking. We rented a car and traveled for a couple of weeks in the southern half. You will love it!!! Any interest in having a butler along for the trip? That's what Monet did you know. His butler would set up several canvases and at intervals of an hour (I think) Monet would change canvases. I could certainly do that for you! :lol

Looks good to me
.. I was out for an hour last night and all I got of it was a case of 1000 ants marching over all parts of my body .. had to give it up .. that will teach me to sit on the ground.

nice effect....and painterly with acrylics! Paper and acrylics might be a good match for travel and England. Though you could prestretch and gesso some canvases, then remove and roll up, and over there use one stretcher to pin one on temporarily...do it and set aside. LDiane Johnson has some great methods as well in such.

Looks good, and I like a guy that plan aheads!

Larry

Lovely sky treatment, Jeff!
I think the painting is intriguing with that half tree on the right side. I tried looking at it without the tree and didn't like it as much. Trip sounds fabulous. Paint heaps!
regards Pam

Looks very good! I'm trying to do the same thing with my plein air skills-- getting ready for a trip to Colorado this summer.
