Re: Anyone have information on G.Bogard
Hello digits75,
We've had this question before of somebody looking for more info on G. Bogard, unfortunatley none of us seem to come up with anything useful.
Perhaps you can send a PM (private message) to the person who posted this thread also looking for info on G. Bogard
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187767
...maybe you can compare notes?
It's not that we haven't tried to find something (I know I tired), but nothing much seems to be available on the web and I've never heard of the artist.
The only other thing I might suggest is to take your painting to a reputable gallery or art apraiser (that you trust), in your area and see if they can give you some answer or direction to look in ... just a thought.
And welcome to WC!
I hope someone can help you

Hello SanDiegoPaul,
Well, as I wrote here to digits75, no one has been able to come up with anything, so that's why I posted the link to your question in this respone to digits. Perhaps now the two of you can find something? And again, I will suggest that you take your painting to a reputable gallery/art dealer or art appraiser and see what they might be able to tell you.
Please accept my apologies for forgetting to reply to you... I had no answer for you, other than what I wrote to digits75. Maybe others in the forum also searched and came up empty-handed and didn't wish to reply... but I am just guessing there.
Anyway, I wish you much success in your search for G. Bogard and I hope, more importantly, that you are enjoying the painting you have.
Good Luck! and please do let us know if either of you find anything out.

~Judy

Not much to write about when you don't have anything to say.

TRUE, TRUE!~
Odd too. The reason I found this forum originally, was because when I began my search on Google (after I came back from my aunt's home in Phoenix a few weeks ago) this was the first link. My aunt had asked me to find info on the painter, as she has three of the paintings. Somebody told her they were from a series of six or so, called "the Trail of Tears."
When I searched Google, I was referred to an old thread on this forum where somebody had posted a link to an ebay painting. Wife and I looked at the painting and there was no doubt AT ALL! that it was the same artist.
I don't know how old that thread was but it was interesting to see another one done by the same artist, and along the same thread as the ones my aunt has had for years.
Ahh, well maybe the artist will be known someday and they will be worth a nickel or two!

Re: Anyone have information on G.Bogard
I also have a painting by G. Bogard and have not been able to find out anything about the artist. I am sure that it is also from the "Trail of Tears" series.
Can you tell me where your aunt got her paintings? I purchased the one I have from a store in the mall in Bakersfield, CA about 15 years ago.

Re: Anyone have information on G.Bogard
I have a G. Bogard and have also been wondering if there are more. My parents bought this piece somewhere in Southern Cal probably 25 years ago or so. Has anyone been able to find out more info on this artist?
Thanks!

Re: Anyone have information on G.Bogard
Would a search on Bogaert on Google give anything, because I think Bogard is an anglicised version of Bogaert.

Re: Anyone have information on G.Bogard
I have one I bought in 1984 from a lady in san bernadino CA. framed for 75.00
She was a painter and her home filled with painting, but even though this was different from her other work she said she did it. When I got it home I noticed the name on the painting was not hers. I didn't care it was an oil that looked great and framed for $75.00
Like others I can't find any info on it.
It a pitrue of an indian on painted horse running from a praire fire. the smoke clouds fill the sky and form the head of a indain chief.

Re: Anyone have information on G.Bogard
This artist is truely a visionary. The one i have is very simular to the one described by kittengale. I have only seen two of these paintings. How does the "Trails of tears" come into the so called series of these rare and exquisite works of art?Is the diagonal circle cross part of the riddle? Who is really in the background! Is the cross an Indian Logo. What tribe.! Is the awnser psychadelic? I believe this artist spent time in the superstition mountains, as I have seen many simular Visions and more six months ago on the spring equinox in these mountains. Iwill post a photo of my painting in a couple of days.Who has new information on this phantom artist?

Re: Anyone have information on G.Bogard
A friend brought me an oil today that was signed G. Bogard. I was trying to find out who this was. I left it at my office so I can't precisely describe it, but there were three Indians on horses with someone coming toward them. Also the head of an eagle or hawk above an Indian head in the clouds. Beautiful painting.

Re: Anyone have information on G.Bogard
For those wondering about G.Bogard, we're very sorry we can't do better, but there seems to be limited info on him.
Why not try Brandy's suggestion here:
