never a dull moment with our doggies around!!

just spent several hours and 2 memory cards wandering around downtown Chattanooga - lots of interesting pix. How about an example of art deco bronze statue or architectural artwork / decoration in your city?

Re: The Photo Below Is----

My little town has an arts center, but it doesn't have any outdoor art. However the George Washington Masonic Memorial is in the next town over, Alexandria.

Next: art and architecture in your town

How about some really "sharp" art or architecture?

Re: The Photo Below Is----

I am not sure if this qualifies as art deco or bronze but it's a statue!

Next photo: Because there are so many possibiliies, let's continue with an example of art deco bronze statue or architectural artwork / decoration in your city?

Re: The Photo Below Is----

Sorry about that, I didn't realize that you two had posted more art and architecture. Looks like we are still looking for more.

Re: The Photo Below Is----

I have seen many pix of this tower - in a land of earthquakes it is quite an engineering marvel to have survived so long. Sharp indeed!

This is the Detroit's Mariner's Church Bell tower that was immortalized in the 1975 Ballad, "The Wreck of the Edmung Fitgerald" as the "cathedral" where "the churchbell chimed 'til it rang 29 times".

Next photo: At least one more bell tower

Re: The Photo Below Is----

This was a drive by, so I can't identify it except to say it is in Rome on the way to the Vatican, but I don't think it's in the Vatican. I love seeing the bells.

More bell towers!

(Seeing the Edmund Fitzgerald tower is way cool. My mother is a Yooper and a few years ago we visited The Soo's museum display devoted to the EF.)

Here's a bell tower in Croatia!

How about some Gargoyles, or some other figures on buildings as the next photo!

Re: The Photo Below Is----

Does this count? It is part of the River Walk downtown Chattanooga honoring the first dwellers of the area. The jogger was just a bonus

I couldn't find any of my gargoyle pix, so show me yours!
