WDE 5 4 07 Three Faces of Helen with Michigan Mills

ooooo, so many pictures and sooooo little time!!! Thanx for some goodies, Helen, and keep yr sense of humor, okay?? re the Michigan Mills... i had this all drawn in and decided on only about 5 colors, simple, placid..... then i read one of the back letters from Robert Genn.... DONT BE BORING... and i realized that's why i couldnt get motivated to DO it... that would be too boring... there are at least 18 colors, i loosened up QUITE a bit, darkened, contrasted and tweaked til i kind of like it....8X10, woodless on cardstock, 2+ hrs .... the 'portraits' were a half hour of fun
wanted to try the chair in sunlite, but (sigh) it's been 'done'..... (good to see you back, Lorna!)

and my Helen....

First saw the elevator and tipple and thought ... what a great combination... I love it! Then saw the three of me and had to laugh.... Only my friend Kori would do the reflection in the bike as one all by itself... love the three of them too!

did you see i flipped the tipple??? that's the title i was thinking of... but thought i'd get in trouble ... wonder how many noticed the third 'portrait'.... heavens! i almost forgot... this was Teagan's contribution... we did the initial drawings on Friday, and we had about an hour.....Teagan's Pony (age 6) 1 hr, 8X10, pencil, ran out of time.....

I do like those buildings Nonny - good combo and well done

Noticed Helen taking the bike pic - three fun pieces there - and a nice tribute to Helen too.

Teagan's work is very good - must have got some talent from here Grandma!
The pony is excellent - she has a good sense of proportion already - and I love her flowers.

Kordelia
Wow all of them are just beautiful but I must say the grain elevator and tipple are my favorite, great idea. What beautiful colors and shading you did.

Great portraits! Clever to combine those references into one giant picture. The pony and flowers by the budding young artist are great

The two mills together make a really interesting ( and beautifully done) composition. Wish I'd thought of that ! The 3 faces of Helen ( starring Joanna Woodward) looks great.

Teagan's horsey is the bestest ever!!!

Teagan's pony is excellent!

I love the mills- so solid looking and what a great composition, putting them together like that. The three Helens are great!
