I see a bowl of golden coins getting ready to spill out from the bowl. Howard this is another wonderful one in your series and I love the comp., depth, textures and colors! Another beauty!!

Thanks for commenting and looking. Yes, the "figure" green piece is a coin. It is a part of a prosperity coin set. From what I gather they are something like a good luck charm or fettish.

White is often seen as the color of purity, innocense, cleanliness but it can also be the color of death (Eastern cultures) and in some cultures the color of royalty or of dieties.

Talk about multiple meanings. I like them all.

To me, the green object represents a bird in flight,
with an echoing of wing feathers in the lower right texture.

Hi howard,

yes, an interesting piece. Where did you get this chinese/japanese(?) writing from? does the text have any sicnificance?

the green object is throwing me off. it seems so geometric and artificial compared to the other surfaces which are all cracked or structured and more organic-looking. Maybe that was your intention.
