Wonderful riot of color Chief. How did you do the lace? Splatter through it?

Chief, beautiful blossoms; I too am interested in the lace; "we" costume painted "our" motorcycle tank a rich metallic blue & black using lace I had left over from my wedding gown (that exact lace pattern). Artist's are fun, aren't we!

Re: Hibicus (YUPO)

Hey Chief,
Why get the artistic license if you can't use it!? You've used it well here. I'd probably crop it to a more square format when I frame it...I like that format so usually gravitate toward it..
nice job.

Re: Hibicus (YUPO)

What the heck - exactly - this works great - who care if you used artisitic licence - you had fun and that is the main thing.

Chief

I love this. The composition works well, and the colours are great. What did you use for the pink? I tried to paint some fuschias a while back and struggled with the pink.

Re: Hibicus (YUPO)

I would like to apply for your artistic license, did you make a duplicate?
hehehe Love this, I think I know how you got that last effect, yupo takes stencils and stamps better than any other surface I have ever used, great job with that Chief, course you have the advantage of the squirrel tail...
that said, such an wonderful painting, bravo!!!

Re: Hibiscus (YUPO)

Thanks Mark.......I used W&N Opera Rose and a bit of Quin. Red....

Thanks Joan......YUPO is fun to paint on....

Thanks Kat........yup Wagstaff''s tail is my secret weapon for sure....when all else fails I depend on him. Yes Yupo is wonderful for taking impressions and the like. I'm constantly trying to think up ways to take advantage of it. ..... Chief

Re: Hibiscus (YUPO)

Wow Chief - That lace is wonderful!!! I'm taking notes here because I just got a couple of sheets of yupo from one of the art suppliers here in the UK - but I have not been brave enough to try it yet!

Thanks for sharing.
