Re: Twelve Monthly Challenges: April 2007

Hi everyone,

What exactly is the challenge? Just pick a tree and draw it?

Is this project meant to overlap with the Drawing 102 tree lecture?

HiHo Mony and gang - oh boy trees!!!!

Roy thanks for the link in basic 102. I am ever so slowly working thru basic 101 still on essential but painful perspective.

I with Nickel - a quick sketch of those trees would be fun.

Greetings Miller and BlackS - pretty laid back in here - you can copy a master or do something in a classical style you like up thru impressionism.
Looking forward to seeing you around.

Re: Twelve Monthly Challenges: April 2007

Hi Everyone! Good morning! Yes, we are laid back here. This is our tree challenge here. It will be here until the end of April then we will pick something else and we will work together in our way that we learn together.
There are no instructors here, we are friends. So do we stumble, lol, yes,
but if we fall, we help each other up and try not to stumble around anymore or less anyways.
Plus we do learn together and have fun. There is no pressure here.

Diane Wright's class is a wonderful class, please particpate
with her. Show her your support! It is very nice what she is doing for WetCanvas members.
We hope you'll join us here this month too!

Our fundamentals in this forum are based on:
realistic-based drawings, design concepts, value, form, color and composition.
Any media is welcomed. So if you are a watercolor user or chalk user you are welcome to participate.

Sincerely Nickel

Re: Twelve Monthly Challenges: April 2007

I stumbled upon Ivan Shishkin while doing a web search for a landscape with trees. Wow!! I am attaching a couple of his works, one of which I tried reproducing with very mixed results. It has joined my numerous other WIP pieces!! maybe i can finish it and post it here
