My Niece Kayla

It's been some time since I don't get to post a portrait. I've been so busy.
Here is a drawing I did for one of the courses for my School. Hope you like it.

She is my niece.

I use the 2B pencil with some adjustment and once the portarit was finished, I blend it with a blender.

Janet what a lovely niece you have and a lovely drawing of her bust a small nitpic .... eyes don't appear to be in the same direction . graphite is fun isn't it

Thanks Jean. I know what you are saying. I guess that's the way she is. Here is the ref photo. I looked a other of her photos and it seems that one of her eyes is not totally aligned with the other one. Very slightly but noticible. What do you think?

As an artist: It's a wonderful likeness, and very nice drawing! As for the eye's you've caught the expression in them.
As a Grandmother: She is an adorable child. She may have a slight weakness in that eye, I don't think it is anything to worry about at that age. I'm guessing she is no more than 2?

Janet you have done a wonderful painting of her, she is a little beauty, sometimes at that age when they are tired that will happen I'm sorry I mentioned it

Elaine - Thanks for your comments. She is only 1 yr. old. Very cute and soooo good, it's unbelievable.

Jean - Not to worry. I am glad you noticed and mentioned it. I really didn't 'see it' until you said it. I drew it as I saw it but wasn't thinking that she might be developing a problem with that eye. That's why I went to look at the other photos. I'll look at her in person to see if it's that way or if it's someting on the photos. I want to be sure there is nothing wrong with her eyes. Thanks for commenting. I really appreaciate it.

I can't believe how well it is! It looks like the camera stole your drawing and took a picture of it adding colors to it.
just....great!
PS: kids tend to tilt their eyes, I did it to! XD

You took a very ordinary photograph and turned it into a wonderful piece of art. She is adorable and the picture did not do her justice....but you did...GREAT WORK

Bryan - Thanks. And I am glad to hear that kids tend to tilt their eyes. I didn't know that. My son never tilted his, so never notice this on kids. That's a relief! LOL

What a little doll! You did an amazing job on her!
The eye thing....don't worry about it children that young have not developed the muscles in their eyes completely and as she gets older it will straighten out. She does have some beautiful expressive eyes! Going to be a little charmer (if she isn't already ).
