bamboo and birds bathroom

The design is adapted from painted bedroom furniture. Simplified a great deal!
I put touches of metallic copper and gold in the birds' feathers, but the angle of the light is wrong so it doesn't show up. I think I'm going to put some interference blue on the feathers anyway, just to see how it does.

Again a wonderful job! Did you do the entire bathroom?

Re: bamboo and birds bathroom

Hi Ruth, beautiful birds and bamboo. Would it be possible to show us a photo of the whole bathroom? I know my bathroom is not large enough to back up and get a good photo.

Ruth, tune in tomorrow. I am going to post a practice board that was semi inspired by you. Just keep in mind it's only a practice board and not a whole bathroom. But you know what they say, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

Re: bamboo and birds bathroom

Thank you all for your comments! Yes, I did all three available walls, and this is the best I can do to show it. If I try to take a photo from the door, I'm facing a big mirror, so that doesn't work either. Sorry. Interference paint gleams with gorgeous color when the light hits it at just the right angle. You can see the effect in my thread titled Fairy Tale Mural from a couple of years ago.

Beautiful, Ruth. Would that style be considered chinoisserie (not sure of the spelling)?

Yeah, I'd like to know what that style would be considered too Ruth. If you know.
