I Have A Problem, Too!!

Finally settled on the Nikon Coolpix 995 and I love it. Problem is I have Windows XP and still can't get it to work with my Nikon. O.K. so I got a HP Photo Printer - and I love it, reads my cards with no problem. But, just for security I guess, I would like to be able to plug in a card reader and haven't been able to do that either. XP is a real PIA!! (I do like it for the most part though - and I'm sure in two or three years all the kinks will be worked out - just in time for something new to come out). Any suggestions as to how I can hook up a card reader and get some results???

That is too weird - I bought a ZIO as well, and that still didn't work. I may have to call Dell and have a discussion with them about it. Just don't understand why the card reader, through the Photoprinter, works and a plug in card reader doesn't. Isn't the Nikon wonderful??. I've really been having a ball with it!!

just had and thought can you down load the images directly from the camera to the computer.

And yes i do thing think they are wonderful cameras. They take great pictures. You can either have complete control of all the setting or just point and shoot. The battery life is really long. I ran mine monday for 3 hours with the lcd screen on before the battery went. if i make sure to turn of the lcd in between shots or just use the view finder i have never ran the battery out before i was done shooting.

I know, I took almost 100 shots before the battery ran out. But I got an extra battery for when we go on trips. I still have a lot to learn about the camera - but I'm enjoying even that.

Unfortunately downloading directly into the computer from the camera is exactly my problem - it just won't let me do it. I have, literally, spent hours on the phone with Nikon, got their updated software and it still will not work!! It's extremely frustrating. But I have talked to several of the computer specialists in the area (who want upward of $175 to come over and hook it up) and they tell me even they are having a difficulty with it. BTW, I have read some of the input from other camera - brands - owners who have said they have had the same problem with XP.
