Chinese Brush /Sumi-e forum

Hi Everyone,

I don't know if this is the proper forum to post this, if not, mod can move to the appropriate forum.

I would like to know how many of you guys and gals out there are interested in this type of art. If there are sufficient people out there, we can ask Kerri to open up a new forum or sub forum. It doesn't hurt to ask, the worst it could happen is a no . We can all learn from each other.

Thanks for looking,
Sinh

Good luck Sinh, and I would post your message in the Cafe Gerbious too.

Any suggestions as to where else this question might be posted for maximum results???

I don't know, I'm still a newbie. I usually hangs out in the Acrylic forum. Here's a thread with 2 of my Chinese brush paintings. http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...ighlight=lotus. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I will go look, but I don't "do" Chinese Brush work ..

Try the Pen and Ink Forum too.

Re: Chinese Brush /Sumi-e forum

I would love to see an Asian Brush forum on Wetcanvas. Although it's most popular in ink only and watercolor, I consider this a style that can be done with any medium (as you've shown with acrylic paints). My first successful experiment in this style was with charcoal. I'd like to see it under the "Explore Subjects" category. Chinese Calligraphy is most welcome in the Calligraphy forum, as well. There just isn't alot of help there, only a place to show.

I'd love to see a forum for this type of art, I just tried a sumi-e style thing in burnt umber that came out reasonably.

I would like to see this too. I mentioned this in an earlier thread. Don't know what it takes to get a new forum started.
