Anyone tried Loctite Mounting Putty?

I've been looking for a local source for Blu-Tac.. Today I found a mounting putty that looked promising, Loctite package, 2 oz of blue stuff. Got it home and.. Wow! It works great.. Just wanted to share this info.

Thanks, Bill... I'll have to give this type a shot. I am ADDICTED to blu-Tac, so if this is even close, I will be SO happy.... I am tired of having to feed my addictions from overseas

Bill....
Where did you get your mounting putty? I am always picking up this type of stuff up to experiment with, but I haven't seen this brand.

Thanks...

Another product of the same type is the 3M "Removable Adhesive Putty" sold under the "Scotch" brand name. It is grayish-white, seems to work well on graphite, less tacky than Blu-Tack, and is available just about everywhere I've looked.

Having just started to play with it, I will report later with experience whether good or bad.

Yes, it looks like what I found. It is blue in color and it is for mounting posters and such. It is soooo sticky it's getting on my nerves sometimes. It sticks to my fingers like a glue..... It is very effective. I keep it together with my kneaded erasers, so when I need blue thing all I need to do is squeeze the piece few times and find the right one By now the colors of both are the same. I am working hard with them

I have to say that I don't see what is so special about blu-tack. I have some but I also use any kind of mounting putty when I do colour pencil work, and to be very honest, they all work pretty much the same way, some just slightly more sticky than others.

I use Pritt Tak, that is white and to me is just as good a blu-tak. I buy mine at either Office Depot or Office Max. I have never seen the blue mounting adhesive down here. Thank you for the information, Bill!

Re: Anyone tried Loctite Mounting Putty?

in the US, Blue Tac is sold in Audio Video stores--that is where I got mine. It is too late in the evening. I thought the title of your thread was:

"Anyone Tried Lactate Mounting Putty". Good night, folks!!!
