Really pretty color combo Kat!! Wow...this is a large one! It would look great on a wall to brighten up a drab room!

Ha! You finally came over to the dark side! It was only a matter of time Kathy. I too have used a lot of dyes with wc and on paper but don't you just love the flow on silk???? Beautiful colors and blending. Can't wait to see more. Be sure to post some in MM too as there are a few other silk painters there. Are you steaming to set? ( Never mind, just read that's a yes.) Wait until you start doing sarong sizes!!!

Can't wait to see more!

Li

Ahh the long lost Li, thanks for popping in here to comment, I have a long way to go before I do work like yours but you have set the bar for me and its good to have a mentor in silk, I will drop in over at MM if i get the nerve, thanks again Li,
Oh BTW yes I love how the paint flows in silk, very much!!!

Absolutley beautiful, now you've intriqued me to try, may I ask where you get your silk? and how do you keep it.?? from the environment? and are you using this as clothing or a painting framed?

Hello lori and thanks for asking, please keep in mind i dont uses strictly dye specific pigment and i have not fixed the dyes at all, you might want to look up member Lisilk fior those questions, but I purchase my silk from Dharma.com and I use Charmouse silk which is very inexpensive and comes on a roll.
I also use jaquard pigment as well as some acrylics and lots of watercolor right out of the tubes.
I am intending to hang it framed and later when I have fixed and tested some scarves, I intend to wear and sell those, please feel free to ask any further questions, I appreciate the interest, it helps me learn as i go, thanks again,

I love the very intense tropical colors here! I learned something new today. I did not know one could paint on silk. Lovely!

Hi Kat, I do Chinese painting on Antique silk in watercolour and they work beautifully. This is gorgeous. You have a wonderful eye for colour and it shines here.
