Re: American Cranberry

Dev,

You are really amazing. You are so versatile and everything to attempt is sensational. My favorite of all is the dancer, but each has a unique beauty. The simplicity in this is so appealing. You're such a gifted artist!

Cheryl

Re: American Cranberry

There is a lovely freshness and simplicity about this painting Deb! The purity of the colors and the white background work so well together to give this feeling.

Re: American Cranberry

Deb,
Echo, echo, echo, all of the praises from above.

This has a wonderful ORIGINAL beauty from composition to color choices to use of the watercolor medium's unique abilities to merge and mingle and create something new.

I've not heard of this particular tree, but from your description of how it smells, I think I'm glad I haven't.

You get my Merit Point today for this wonderful painting.

Love the pallette, the transparency, the near minimalism in each element, the composition..........the stark white.......not so keen on the smelly socks mention

Re: American Cranberry

Beautiful Deb! Love the palette, the color on those berries, the leaves, twigs, and how you just dabbed one layer on the other with one stroke. The background works for me, really highlights the oriental touch and simplicity...you maxxed out the "less is more" in a delicous way, I want to grab those things and eat them, I don't care what they smell like. The blue in the leave is off the hook! You've evoked for me the feeling of winter and the holidays without resorting to a trite subject or treatment....a real accomlishment...You rule!!! (hope we'll get one of these in the mail) N,O,L

Re: American Cranberry

I am totally floored at the number of responses this painting has garnered, but I graciously accept and appreciate all of them. This painting was really just an experiment which so far has proven to be quite successful.

Heartfelt thanks to each of you!
Deb
