Yes, very good layout! My eye sweeps through the picture clockwise. I started with the dragon (of course), went to the small red tree, then those wonderful flame red leaves, down to the mage, and then back to the dragon and the stone. I love the moss on the wall...nice touch!

And welcome to the forum! Thanks for sharing!

Oil pastels? Damn good job I have to say. I've tried those once and they fought my left and right so my respect to your skills with them.
I really love the entire scene, very classic and very enchanting. The dragon is lovely and you did a nice job on the background.

It's good that you found your way over here and by all means do show us more!

Re: My First Dragon cross post

Thanks so much BD and Tayara. I worked really hard to make it a pleasing composition, tried to put together some of the good advice I've read on WC.
I've always drawn on and off over the years but have always been scared of colour and have not had very good results, lots of mud!!! Then I picked up the oil pastels and I fell in love with them although this is only my third attempt with them (the other two were animals). I wanted to make this piece about crystal clear colour and light, I don't know how well I did but its a picture that makes me smile when I look at it. I hope I haven't waffled on for too long.
Wishing all those who celebrate it a Happy Thanksgiving
Marie

Cool dragon!! I like the amount of detail you put into this and the overall theme.
