Hi Linda!
Here is an update of Amyeverhart. Still have to dress her and give her something to sit on. Cheers to everyone so far, this has been a fun ride.

Well! After looking at all these great portraits I think now would be a good time for me to take a holiday and leave my paints at home! Gee! they are all so good!

Oh !!!!!!!!! They are all so good. And this is such a FUN thread. Joel hooked me up with a partner and we have already exchanged photos. So hopefully I will post something soon. I don't know whether to go with oils or watercolor though.
Lynn -I love that painting- you are definitely gonna get there...you go girl... Joel-- superb as usual. I want to comment on them all but I don't have time - I am just going to keep looking and enjoying all the styles. Love those WIPs.

Wowzers!!
Sorry I’ve been MIA … Just trying to keep up.
We have some excellent renditions coming together here!
It’s amazing to see the different mediums and techniques. You guys are incredible
Amira, you’ve complimented me well with your excellent study. I can only hope your monitor didn’t crack with my mug on it
Hi Linda Good to see you here, now where’s my favorite smiley, darn-it?
Margaret… those eyes, I’m getting hypnotized just looking.
What cha working on Ian?
This is Amira, 16x20” (40x50 cm) Graphite. Started last night and was planning to do another in oil. Not sure I’ll have time.
Everyone keep up the great work! I know we’re in for a treat with the folks to come!

Well, I did go darker, and caught a few more of his wrinkles, hope he forgives me for that, But, I suspect I am ready to pack and ship!

Re: The Third Annual Great WC! Holiday Portrait Swap! Post your work & wips here!!!
When I got the ref photo for Joel (Jcoop), I complained about the lack of wrinkles on this Adonis of a man. When my wife saw the ref photo and learnt that we were going to swap, SHE WAS OVER THE MOON! LOL.
Poor woman, I haven't the heart to tell her that we are only swapping portraits.
Here is the ref for the Adonis.
Here is my cropping and fiddling about with the exposure for dramatic effect (I hope).
And here is todays start on the underpainting.
I hope to goodness that Joel posts my completed portait before he sees this. LOL.
Regards
Graham

Re: The Third Annual Great WC! Holiday Portrait Swap! Post your work & wips here!!!

Decided that I needed to put up something or else I'd completely chicken out I have been learning to use the digital medium lately and wanted to get comfortable with paper again. This is with a pen on A4 paper to get familiar with Lynns face. I was not able to control the pen to get values. I'm hoping to start on the canvas soon. This was just to give you folks advance warning of what's coming and now that you know I'll be less stressed

You are right Graham, Joel is a babe!!!!!!
I am going to have to start my painting all over again - have never felt this level of stress over painting - I've got stage fright seeing all this amazing work! At least I have got major real work stress to balance it all out.

Ujwala, I have to tell you, I love the pen and ink! It's beautiful, (which considering what you're looking at to draw it, is a miracle in itself.)
Please, may I have that one? I'll trade you a pencil sketch of you for it.
