Mondays at the marsh

Hi y'all! I've been painting out with friends on Mondays. Here are some from the past two outings...

Flood tide oil on canvas panel 16x20 A really gloomy morning!

I think I posted the beginning of this one last week, finished on second trip to the location. Light through Leaves, oil on canvas panel, 16x20

Shrimpboat at dock, oil on canvas, 16x20. They were selling shrimp fresh off the boat, $3.50 a pound.

Marsh grass, oil on canvas panel, 16x20

Ruth

Hi-Ruth. I want some friends to paint with and the time to paint to for that matter. Lovely work. I really like the light and color in the last two. Your comps really bring our eyes into the paintings.

I love that first one Ruth! Great depth and it has that rainy day feel to it. They are all superb though. Lori

Re: Mondays at the marsh

I hope you bought lots of shrimp at 3.50/lb !!! All are lovely of course! #1 really has a great, gloomy feel and since I tend to like "bad weather" paintings I like that one a lot and I think the last one is a real winner!!!

Re: Mondays at the marsh

You made the gloomy look cheery. Lots of warm colors the cheer the soul. Nice work, Ruth! They're all nice, but I'm very keen on #4. Warm grasses.

Re: Mondays at the marsh

Really good paintings. You hava caputered the branches and leaves in the foreground in a convincing way in 1. and 2.
