Two still lifes

So little time, so much to do....It's been hard to find time to get online lately, and I haven't had time to get out for plein air work either. I did some landscapes from photos, and a couple of tiny still lifes in the studio:

My Favorite Watering Can
5x7", on the usual canvas covered hardboard

Painting flowers usually works to lift my spirits. I did this one last night.
Happy Days
7x5", oils on the usual

There's a setup pic on my blog of the carnation painting with my painting box that I use for the dailies.

Thanks for looking! Back to the brushes............

Re: Two still lifes

Hi Jamie,

With everything you've had going on lately I'm impressed that you
painted at all. These two are very nice. The water in the second one looks cloudy, but I wouldn't have a clues as to how to fix it. Love the flower through.

I did another Vase/pitcher last night. I will be posting it soon. Couldn't
get a good picture of it last night when I got home.

My thoughts and prayers are with you,

Peter-MN

Hi Peter. Thanks for the support and good thoughts.

The light water is coming from the support that the jar is resting on. You can see it in the blog photo.

I'll keep an eye out for your thread!

Re: Two still lifes

Ahh, it's the old tablecloth reflection trick. )
I saw it on your blog but it's not shown in the painting,
thus my confusion.

I may start a blog site someday. Are they easy to set up?
expensive? better than a website? I'm not too versed in this stuff.

Re: Two still lifes

These are beautiful! And thank you for sharing them with us! &

Peter, most blogs are free. Blogspot is the easiest one I have seen in awhile. Just a matter of clicking what you want to set it up. So far, I have not been told I have reached my image limit and I have posted many. That is another plus for Blogspot.

Re: Two still lifes

Thank you, "kats"!

Peter, setting up the blog isn't too difficult, depending on what you want on there. I'm pretty computer illiterate, but my son helped me out initially. It does take a chunk of time out of my day that I used to spend here, and Blogspot goes down from time to time, which is a p.i.t.a. I just felt that I had to get a website going. Traditional websites seem to be so stagnant and are never updated. I wanted something with more flow, that would change frequently, so the blog suits me better. I still need to get a website going for a gallery display, so that I can have all my available work in one place. Someday.....

Jamie
