Cool Amelia Island Marsh Scene

Had a wonderful time last week painting with Deb at Amelia Island, Florida. Only finished this one plein air (acrylic on canvas, 14x18) but did paint some with my watercolors (which took forever to dry in the humidity!)

Sensational. The simplicity of the composition really concentrates the focus on the abstract qualities. Fabulous colours and textures - I love the way you have captured the distance by varying your mark making. Great job!

Great use of color to accentuate depth. Beautiful painting! I admire people who tackle canvases that large outdoors-- I've tried to do it and for me it just wasn't a good idea, at least not yet.

Thumbs up

What a wonderful painting!

You have really captured the flat marshland and the distant skyline, and the colours are wonderful.

remarkable piece Carly...love it. Very unique style, and something I don't think I've seen from you before. Hope to see more. It not only suits you...it suits my eyes just fine, and has a refreshing appeal to it.

Larry

Carly,

This is great! Hope you plan to show it at the Atlanta Artist Center in the near future. Makes me want to get my acrylics out and go at it!

Keep it up - I like this direction you are heading in.
