Question Which Epson paper to use for prints?

I just bought the Epson 1280 printer and I am trying to decide which paper to buy for making artwork prints. I was planning to buy the Epson Archival Matte paper, but then I noticed they also have something called Matte Paper Heavyweight. Does anybody use either of these papers and can you tell me which one I should buy?

Thanks!
Heather

Hi MissMouse, thanks for the info! I never even considered watercolor paper before, but after reading about it at that link I think that might be what I decide to buy.

Thanks for your help!

I just went to the Epson website and noticed that the watercolor paper is for use with specific printers only, the 1280 not included. Do you use that paper with the 1280 or with a different Epson printer?

Any third party paper?

Hi Heather,

The reason why I clicked on this forum was to post the same question you have posted here!

I am seeking information on buying a watercolor paper for Epson 1280 Printer and there seems to be none for the printer.

So let me add my ques too,

Are there any Epson Art Quality Paper which I might have overlooked?

Are there any Third-Party Papers which can be used for this purpose?

Thanks everyone!

I have been using the Epson 1280 printer for nearly a year now. I make prints of my watercolor paintings. I use the Museo fine art paper. It is a watercolor paper texture and acid free. Not cheap but I think in the long run it is worth it. Here is a link to it. http://www.inksupply.com/index.cfm?s...tml/paper.html Sommerset paper is good too.

Thanks Rich for the info. You're right, it's not cheap. But, you get what you pay for, so I may just need to give it a try. Thanks for your help!

The "Professional Archival" (plainer white/blue box) papers are for the 2000P
Use the others (more colorful boxes) for your 1280. That's how I remember it!
