Another study~to learn from, thanks for cc's

OK, I just keep trying, and this is also not so great.A study from the model. I know the head is too big.UGHH! But I thought I would post it anyway. If nothing else~ it gives me the chance to learn by comparison to others here that are truly great artist's. c`c welcome And her leg really was twisted like that !

Hi Carol

I nice study... I'm not sure about the back ground, its quite busy and she seems to get lost in it. I love the light on her shirt. Looks very real.

Carol, I actually think you are doing great - the shadowing and lighting is giving her figure good depth. I like this. Afraid I can't give any useful critique as too newbie.

actualy is see very little "wrong" with it. your porportions are well done, your forshortenting and hands are great. your eye for shadow and tone is very good. your over all rendering of the chair, subject and clothes is preyy good

as stated a more sutible background might bring the subject more forward. one thing you might try is to define the "focus" or central point of intrest of your painting more, by using slightly sharper lines of that area. just a thought. but bravo, like the colours and style

Carol, I think you've done a great job with this -- the lighting is excellent.

Hello, an excellent piece of work, to me, the depth and strength of the background, seems to match the expression of the model and gives the piece a sense of unity.
Best wishes, Ken..
