WDE Sep. 22 - Window Display

Thanks for the photos, Tressa! I watched the documentary of Andy Warhol on PBS, and this image was just so perfect to paint after that. He worked on window display in his early career and his repeated images are so famous.

The painting is almost done, but when you see the photos you will find problems (as you know). I liked the reflection of the figure in the window but it seems to be out of place. Maybe I painted a little too realistically compared to the rest, or maybe the blue is not working. I do not like the area where the wall, the window frame, and the pole for the stop sign are next to each other in the similar width, so I may do something about that later. Thanks for looking. C & C welcome!

ooh, I wondered which brave soul would tackle this -- you've done a really nice job of it, very believable. The car and the heads are especially well done. Nice work.

i really like how this came out. it's like some kind of statement on urban life with the signs, the predominant grays and the blank faces in the window.

what a great take on that pic!!!!! i like the sleekness of the car, so 'modern' looking; for some reason the window ISNT. (modern looking, that is) really cool!! Kor

Re: WDE Sep. 22 - Window Display

Thanks everyone!!! A bit of Warhol's talent might have rubbed off on me after watching his documentary. I made at least one person think.

A difficult subject, and a cool painting. I love the colors you chose

Thanks Connie, Florence, and Dewi. I highly recommend watching the documentary of Andy Warhol on PBS. You, all of a sudden, find yourself painting something that you thought you would never paint.

Oh, brave lady!
This is almost an abstract - nice close colour scheme, and I like the way you're thinking about it!
