No but my whole family does. Pretty hick, actually. I lost my Texas accent from years pounding the floors of local theater and broadcast radio and narration. I actually have a very commercial voice, much like you'd expect to hear on the radio or TV. I can turn my old accent back on, and it does come back easily, especially when I spend extended time with my family. I also have a fairly extensive range of celebrity imitations. So instead of a twang, imagine the last line spoken like James Mason.

Gee, isn't that the truth. The more I paint with pastels, the harder it is to paint with a brush. Didn't seem to have that problem a few years ago. Go figure.

Re: Breaking the rules-Apple Lady

I'm so thrilled with the outcome of the show this was in. It was a gallery 10th anniversary with an exhibit within an exhibit consisting of 10 paintings from their top 10 artists. There was a people's choice award for $500 worth of framing at my favorite wholesale frame outlet and this one took the prize.

It isn't the value of the award that is such a thrill but the award itself. I sponsor the People's Choice awards all the shows in our local chapter of the FCA because I feel it's by far the best indicator of how the public is receiving your work. Jurors and curators have their own agenda and in the end it's the public that the artist has to please so when the gallery owner tells me that over 62 percent of over 450 votes are for one painting it certainly tells you something. Now one just has to figure out what. Subject matter? Medium? Quality? Style? ....something was right

One takes inspiration from wherever they can. This was in amongst artists whom I greatly admire and who constantly inspire me. To be in that company and to be sold on the opening night and to remain the only painting sold in the exhibition can’t help but raise my enthusiasm. I'm back at the easel on my second acrylic in so very many years.

Cheers, Dianna
