Bonny wee doggy

This is a piece I finished yesterday. Conte on Manilla, 8x10. The subject is a Chihuahua who got her name when her daddy first saw her and said "my what a bonny wee doggy". And well... it stuck. This is the fourth piece in my Chihuahuas on Manilla series.

Chifancier,

Your little black Chihuahua is precious!

I like the way you used the black chalk to make him look very solid. That's what I love about Conte. You can make a drawing that looks like it will walk off the page.

The vertical composition makes the doggie's hindquarters hard to decipher but some more varied lights and darks in this area would communicate more clearly how the hindquarters are shaped.
