WDE Sept 1 Parrot

Well, I got back from a little holliday yesterday, saw the great images, and just had to try the Parrot. I could not see him locked away in a cage, so I set him free Then I drew him. Coloured pencils, 8.5x11 in my sketch book (read the cover, and its 50 gm paper, if that means anything)

The treasure chest was an after thought, so it is not very good. Oh yeah, this was after 2 hours.
Any comments, criticism, suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you all
Maurice

I'm so glad you didn't lock him away in his cage! This is a great little painting. Beefing up the lone palm tree or adding a few more trees would be a consideration for next time. The treasure chest is a great. Maybe next time if could be partially buried in the sand.
Good one!!

Maurice...I'm so pleased someone drew the parrot ...even more pleased that you set him free! Kiwi belongs to my brother-in-law, not me, although it's my photograph!

Re: WDE Sept 1 Parrot

I am glad to see this bird finally. He looks much happier in the nature. I can see a lot of attentions to details. You might want to change the color of the sky gradually from blue at the top to white (or light blue) at the horizon.

Great work Maurice. I notice your drawings are getting more vivid and brighter each week. I can see your confidence coming through in your work. I love this drawing.
