gothic romance/mystery painting

I'm certainly not an illustrator by any means but this seems to fit here because of the theme. I just started doing figures and room interiors this past week. Yes I know my table is wonky. Oh well. I had alot of fun doing it as I love the old stories with secret passageways, revolving bookcases etc... I enjoyed it so much I think I'll paint some more in the same vein.

I really like the concept...but the colours are very muddy.

I am really into the classical style of oil though, and how it is rendered with underpainting and glazing etc.

But definately keep going..there is a real eeriness about it which I like....

this would be cool if it had like a dark wooden frameing, what keeps running throuhg my mind is why there is only one star in the sky through the window. mstriouse and very gothic. good job!^^
