This project is soooo cool! You've inspired me to try one now! Where?......I dunno, but I have to find somewhere!!!
You need to find a public place to display your floor talents, MVLC1!
I never heard of Breakthrough sealer, will have to look into that for sure.

Wow! Very cool!
So realistic looking,..I absolutely love it!
Did you start with a cement floor? Did you primer the floor first?
I have a cement floor in my laundry room I need to redo I wonder if I could paint it instead?

Thank you, yes it was a bare concrete floor. I use two coats of latex KILZ primer. I asked about using oil based, but I was told that the water base binds better to the concrete than the oil base. The blue water was a concrete/ceramic paint, and the rest of it was just plain acrylics. After it is painted, I need to place two coats of the "Breakthrough" sealer. It has a semi-gloss finish which I know will add more depth to the floor. After it is completed I will purchase some fake plants like bamboo and such to place around the parimeter, and the best part will be one of those "sleep sound machines" that plays waterfall sounds. I'll hide that by the waterfall... Should be really cool. My personal meditation room...

I think you should have spaced your stones that peek out of the water a bit closer together so you can hop them... I'm sure lots of ppl will try to step across the stones so they don't get their feet wet, lol... Looks really great, Mike.

You are not going to want to put any furniture in this room. Can't cover up this wonderful "floor scape" All you need for your meditations is a nice pillow for your comtemplations.

Many have said just that...
In all actuality, the layout of the composition had my patio furniture taken into consideration. where the couch and chairs are placed I had very little detail/design, and my end tables and coffee table have glass tops...
The furniture itself is made of wrought iron and is minimalistic in structure as well, so again, the is little obstruction to the veiw of the floor. The only mistake that I can see I made was a door mat.... I didn't think about it until it rained the first time after i painted in front of the door....but I went and bought a door mat anyway and cut it in half so it does fit in front of the door, but does not cover too much of the floor....

Great depth to the pond and the water looks so real! AWESOME! I really like the way you made some of the fish more blue, so they look deeper in the water!

Re: Floor Mural Update!..=)
Haven't got to work much on it this week, but I did get the little waterfall completed last night, took about an hour, but that also included all the high lighted edges of the rocks that meet the water...
I will finish this, this weekend.
Oh someone asked me here to keep track of time on this. The space is 10' x 10' and so far the total time (est) is no more than 25 hours. i figure about another 5 hours or so left...
C&C Welcome
Mike
